INTERPRETING
Spanish/English - English/Spanish
Although most people believe that interpreting and translating are the same, there is quite a difference between the skills. Translating involves the written word, while interpreting deals with verbal communication.
There are two types of interpreting: consecutive and simultaneous. In consecutive interpreting, the interpreter waits until a statement has been completed before he or she delivers the message in another language. Consecutive interpretation is more appropriate for meetings, negotiations, hearings and depositions.
In simultaneous interpreting, the interpreter speaks at the same time as the speaker. Simultaneous interpreting is more appropriate for conferences or seminars.
